Toyota Prius Dominates Social Media Buzz

When looking for a new car, it doesn't surprise us at Shore Toyota to learn that people consult social media for opinions and experiences of others. In fact, we think this is a wise thing to do as you will get many different opinions to help kick start your research. This is proving to be a popular practice, especially when it comes to hybrids and as it turns out, the model that is generating the most social media buzz is none other than the Toyota Prius.

GenSent Insights, a social analytics company, has found that the Prius has the highest value amongst all other hybrids in its segment when it was judged against data from Google, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. GenSent was then able to take the conversations that mentioned a brand or model and then convert it into a monetary value. For the Prius, its monetary media value was calculated at a whopping $14.5 million.

The hybrid was helped with 86,000 various Twitter mentions which when compared is over three times more than competing models. Part of its Twitter success can be attributed to a tweet by Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson back in March, which generated 8,371 mentions on the social media platform.
