Another big reason for the wait is that Toyota must find the right parts suppliers within the United States to help them build a Prius that's every bit as high quality as the one that's assembled in Japan. This means finding companies that can supply them with inverters, electric motors and batteries - things that the Japanese automaker doesn't typically have to consider when building other models here.
