Toyota is helping put Alabama on the map (not that it wasn't already). Of every Toyota factory in the world, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama is the only one to produce 4-cylinder, V6, and V8 engines. Because of this, it has received increased attention from Toyota over the past few years. When Toyota revealed that they would be investing a great deal in its North American production at a number of sites, we here at Shore Toyota knew that they were sure to be on the list.

And as it turns out, we were right. Toyota is planning to invest a total of $80 million into increasing the production capacity of V6 engines at their famous Huntsville, Alabama plant. The project will allow Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama to hire a total of 125 new employees and to build an additional 216,000 V6 engines per year for a total of 362,000 annually.

"Toyota's success in Alabama is a testament to the hard-working men and women of the production and leadership teams who have dedicated themselves to producing quality products," says Alabama Governor, Robert Bentley. "We thank Toyota for the company's continued confidence in Alabama and Huntsville, and we look forward to a continued long-term relationship."1

As for which models specifically will be utilizing the extra engines that are to be produced? There are a wide range of new Toyota models that utilize powerful-yet-efficient V6 engines. And we invite you to Shore Toyota, located at 4236 Black Horse Pike Mays Landing, NJ 08330 to learn more about the ones that do or any other Toyota model that you may have been eyeing.
