Here at Shore Toyota, we often report on the latest news concerning the production of new Toyota models. Often, that means bringing our Vineland and Turnersville area fans up to speed on the details regarding new and forthcoming additions to the automaker's lineup. Other times, it involves reporting the company's production milestones.

If we had to classify today's post on our blog, we'd say it technically falls into the category of the latter.

Technically?

Before Toyota sends a new vehicle to be manufactured for the masses, it schedules one last stop at its North American proving ground. This facility is now celebrating its 20th year in operation.

Located in Arizona, this 12,000-acre facility features a 10-mile track as well as several smaller ones, each of which are designed to push an automotive creation to its limits. Think of it as Toyota's own personal Nürburgring.

That's a pretty impressive resource to have at your disposal, and Toyota definitely knows it. The automaker has been using the facility for twenty years now, and currently staffs the private test track with a team of 50 employees. Their job: test every vehicle that comes their way, from the fuel-efficient Prius to the dependable Tundra, and everything in between.

From there, all notes regarding each vehicle's test are carefully considered. Should any last minute changes need to be made, Toyota doesn't hesitate to do so. That being said, there's an extra peace of mind that comes with this level of attention to detail, and we know it's something drivers appreciate every time they set foot in our Mays Landing, NJ showroom.
