Toyota is known throughout the world as a brand that is consistently at the forefront of green automotive tech. They launched the now iconic Prius over a decade ago and since that time the brand has drastically expanded the offerings to fall under the nameplate. Plus, we've even got a few other hybrids in our new Toyota showroom thanks to their ecofriendly efforts.

Well, it seems that Toyota has branched out again and now they are staking out a new sector in eco-conscious innovation--fuel cell vehicles. The hydrogen-powered movement has undoubtedly seen a couple of starts and stalls over the years, so after we caught a glimpse at the Toyota FCV Concept, we were cautiously optimistic here at Shore Toyota. However, once we got the full rundown, we were psyched.

The vehicle sports a very accommodating frame and rests upon a healthy 109-inch wheelbase. The look is nothing short of inspiring with an aggressive front end, eye-catching accents throughout, and an overall aerodynamic stance that makes the vehicle appear to be in motion even at a standstill.

Though running on hydrogen fuel stacks alone, the FCV turns out about 130-hp. Furthermore, it can cover a total 310 miles before needing to refuel. Finally, all of this is especially exciting because the brass claims that the model is just about production-ready.

Of course we'll need to see a bit of a hydrogen infrastructure spring up here in Mays Landing, NJ before we get a fuel cell vehicle in stock. But the technology to warrant such a move seems to already be in place.

To check out a few ecofriendly numbers you can hit the road in today, stop by our dealership and we'd be happy to show off our collection.
