Toyota Safety Sense is bringing the future of safety to the new Toyota lineup. Starting in 2016, models like the Land Cruiser, Prius, Prius c, Rav4, and Avalon will offer this suite of active safety features.
How it works: Safety Sense vehicles will have multiple types of sensors to detect potential frontal collisions, and will even have the ability to brake in an emergency without driver input.
Say you have a sudden medical emergency and black out behind the wheel. What would have been a disaster ends with the car braking on its own, preventing further damage. Scenarios in which the pre-collision system could mitigate damage and potentially save lives are many.
