There's nothing quite as red, white, and blue as the Toyota Camry!
You might be thinking, "no way, Toyota is a Japanese brand," but the Cars.Com American-Made Index doesn't take a vehicle's brand into consideration. It simply looks at whether or not a model was assembled in the U.S., and whether at least 75 percent of its parts were made domestically.
By that scale, there is no other vehicle that rivals the Camry. It came in number 1 on a very short list of vehicles that even qualified, with few by American-owned brands.
The Toyota Camry wins by an even wider margin when taking into consideration how many assembly-plant jobs each model on the list supports. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, where the Camry is assembled, employs nearly 8,000 full-time workers at that one location alone.
Between Toyota's five U.S. assembly plants, and five parts manufacturing facilities, the automaker supports nearly 35,000 direct employees.
Happy Fourth of July from Shore Toyota, and we hope to see you at our Mays Landing showroom soon to test drive American-made new vehicles.
