Fuel cell technology is the hot topic of the summer with multiple automakers focusing their efforts on further research and development of the innovative alternative fuel option. Toyota has frequently been mentioned in discussions about future mobility and hydrogen fuel cell possibilities with new details emerging on the brand's plans which Shore Toyota would like to share with our blog readers.

In 2011, the Japanese automaker declared that it would be building a fuel cell vehicle and showcased a concept car, the FCHV-adv (Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle - Advanced) as proof. Now, at this year's Tokyo Motor Show in November, Toyota is expected to debut a new fuel cell auto with a released date of late in 2014 for a 2015 model year.

The first wave of FCHV_adv models is slated to be a fleet of 100 vehicles and have the ability to travel up to 300 miles. Upon the model's official release, Toyota will set up a succession of events to showcase the vehicle to drivers in areas like Mays Landing, NJ with official demonstrations.
